Trees at The Meteor has been a traditional family Christmas outing for tens of thousands of Hamiltonians since its inception in 2007. This well-loved community arts focused event draws widely from across the city and attracts approx. 5000 annual visitors to participate and vote, view the works created by people of Kirikiriroa, and experience social connection and fun in a joyful environment. 

Trees At The Meteor delivers a ‘Compassion not Consumption’ kaupapa, as an affordable event that exhibits creative, hand-made interpretations of festive trees, focusing on connection and kindness within the community at Christmas time.  

We are pleased to revive this regular fixture of the Christmas calendar, as many are eager to experience the magic and fairy lights of the Trees exhibition again, marvelling at all the wonderful, wacky, and inventive ways their fellow citizens have interpreted the iconic Christmas Tree.  

Relax with a free coffee or hot chocolate in the café while you decide on which audience favourite to vote for.  

Bring your own tee shirts and walk away with a message of kindness, freshly screen-printed on your upcycled tee … but not before posing with friends and whānau as giant presents or wearing a range of oversize props for some ‘Awkward Family Photos’ capturing happy memories for a lifetime...
